The structure of the alternator and regulator is simple and easy to maintain. If used correctly, it will not only have fewer failures but also a long life. If used improperly, it will be damaged quickly. Therefore, the following points should be paid attention to in use and maintenance:

 1. The polarity of the battery is the negative ground and cannot be reversed. Otherwise, the electronic components of the generator or regulator will be burned out;

 2. The connection between the generator and the battery should be firm, if it is suddenly disconnected, overvoltage will be generated and the electronic components of the generator or regulator will be damaged;

 3. When the generator is running, do not use the fire test method to check whether the generator is generating power, otherwise the rectifier diode will be burned out;

 4. Once the alternator or regulator is found to be faulty, it should be repaired immediately and the fault should be eliminated in time, otherwise it will cause a greater fault or battery loss, which will make the car unable to drive;

 5. When a regulator is used for the alternator, the voltage level of the alternator is the same as the voltage level of the regulator, the ground type of the alternator is the same as that of the regulator, and the power of the regulator shall not be less than the power of the generator , Otherwise the system cannot work normally;

 6. The wiring is connected correctly. At present, the installation positions and wiring methods of various car regulators are different, so pay special attention when wiring;

 7. The regulator is controlled by the ignition switch. When the generator stops rotating, the ignition switch should be turned off, otherwise the magnetic field circuit of the generator will always be in the on state, which will not only burn the magnetic field coil, but also cause the battery to lose power;

 8. When the generator or regulator is found to be faulty and needs to be removed from the car for maintenance, first turn off the ignition switch and electrical equipment, remove the battery negative cable, and then remove the wire connector on the generator.
